Tips on maintaining your car

It doesn’t take a mechanic genius to maintain their car, and prevent from visiting the auto shop, and save money. Cars are designed to reach one destination to another, transportation comes a many size, looks, and mechanics. Automobiles' primary reasons consist of car Maintenace, your car is bound to fail. With easy tips, you could prevent this from happening and meet your needs in public transportation. Not everyone needs to be a mechanic, and you don’t need to be to maintain your car. No knowledge is required to keep your car going. Look at it as if your car is a human. What do humans do to maintain a healthy form. Brush your teeth, bathe, eat, and drink. Now your cars also need this, it is maintained with fresh oil, appropriate amount of fluids, and needed tire pressure, these factors go hand to hand like one is feeding the other. You can't get away with a lack of maintenance, because your wallet will also benefit as much as your knowledge towards your car.

Tires

Tires are unique to their make; they are built for long-lasting and durable. There's a factor that determines the level of persistence of the tires, air pressure. The right amount of air pressure is mandatory for resisting the amount of wear and tear on your tires. There's going to become a time where your tires are going to be flat, if you're lucky your car alerts you of when your tire pressure is low, if not then your most likely going to have to check occasionally, to prevent from running on a flat while driving. Then you'll need to make your wallet thinner by paying for a towing company towing your car to the nearest shop. Little bits of care will save you money and any avoidance in trying to get other people to charge you for more than what is needed and what is needed is just a bit of knowledge.

Reading a tire

Tires are made up in different dimensions built for the model of car you possess and are encrypted with a size on the side of the tire, so the owner can read it. This sidewall has numbers and letters for the width height and thickness, this is important to know when trying to change your tires in any case that your tire has a permeant damage. You would read your dimension out to get the exact model for your car. When there is just a flat and all you need is air your tire is also equipped with the amount of air pressure needed alongside the dimension, not every car alerts you when your tire pressure is low, but it can also be visible if air is needed. The tire would read Psi for the amount needed.

Oil change

This is probably the most hands-on complex thing of keeping your car in shape, this requires a few tools and a few bits of knowledge. When trying to do something unfamiliar with can be a difficult task to want to try especially when it comes to your car. One quick glance at what's under your hood and you begin to panic, you have no clue what anything is, or what you're looking at. Aside from the fear, this is what the beauty of mechanics that provides us help to improve our literacy with mechanics. Before initiating and dirty work, the first step would be to go to your local auto store (auto zone, Orielly, auto parts, pep boys, etc.) and pick up the oil and filter that is appropriate to your car. Appropriate to your car? Don’t leave me yet. But yes, every car doesn’t use the same oil and filter there are different varieties and different grades of oil. But the grades of the oil are compared to the durability, and bitterness for your engine. So, as a person that has no mechanics in their background nor any knowledge, you don’t need to know this. That's the beauty in this. You go to the local store and ask them nicely dress man or woman and ask for the oil and filter for your car, you then will provide your cars make, model, submodel, and year. This will give the clerk information only about your car, and he will ask for you to choose the grade of oil regular synthetic or full synthetic. If you don’t want to change your oil very often then the most synthetic is your choice. You've got your choice of oil and filter, but you'll also need some sort of oil pan and funnel to pour the oil.

Different oil types

  • Full synthetic motor oil (MORE COSTLY FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE)
  • Synthetic blend motor oil (ABOVE AVERAGE AND LONG LASTING)
  • Conventional motor oil (MOST COMMON USED)
  • High mileage motor oil (RECOMMENDED FOR OLDER CARS WITH LOTS OF MILES)

You're ready to change your oil and you got your equipment there's only three things that are needed to do with the level of knowledge we intend to use. One we drain the oil into the pan. Two replace filter. Three pour oil in engine. When draining the oil, you will need to have access to under your car and if needed use of a front lift with a jack and or pull up ramps can be used if necessary. The filter provided by the store, replaces the old worn out filter that is located on the bottom of the engine it looks exactly familiar to the new one. To drain this, you remove the filter and the used oil unto the pan. And wait till the oil is completely drained. With the compatible oil chosen from the store your fil into the filter halfway. When this is done you can insert the filter where the old one was and inserting the rest of the oil in the engine.

Water consistency

Like humans' cars need water in their system to function properly, this isn't something that should be checked frequently because your car will most likely show symptoms of low water. First things first if the temperature gauge is showing that it is getting hotter than usual then that should be a big heads up that there needs to be water added. Smoke is a big sign of showing that something is going bad under the hood of the car and it doesn’t necessarily mean it needs water, but it can also determine if does need any. Water flows into the radiator to cool down the car from overheating. Water should never be added when the car is running or hot. To prevent the radiator cap, pop off do this before using the vehicle. Water is inserted in the cap and you don’t really know exactly how much to put in, so you put little intervals of water until you see the water level inside the hole then just place the top back on properly.

With little to no knowledge, you can easily avoid getting a flat tire, engine failure, or overheating your car. It doesn’t take a mechanic or an auto shop to maintain your vehicle, whereas letting another mechanic look at your car could lead to suspicious add owns being applied to your visit to the shop. Knowing the tips to help understand maintaining your vehicle will save time and save yourself being in situations you don’t intend to be in, and most importantly save money
